"Open Up" is a 24/7 online text emotional support platform for publics aged 11-35, under the funding of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and operated by 5 social welfare organizations (The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, Caritas Hong Kong, Hong Kong Children & Youth Services, The Hong Kong Federation Youth Groups, St. James' Settlement), in collaboration with The Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention, the University of Hong Kong.
All users are having text-based conversation with real persons, including social workers, counsellors or trained volunteers.
People aged 11-35, suffered from emotional distress are welcomed to use the call us via the mentioned channels.
You can log in anonymously, and the chat record will be kept confidential, so feel free to talk to us!
There is no time limit for chatting, yet the chatting time generally suggested to be within 60-90 minutes.
Our professional team members will talk to you as patiently as possible, as circumstances permit.
As all conversations are conducted by a real person, we need time in assisting users to relieve their emotions distress.

In expanding our professional team and for helping more people get rid of emotional distress, we also provide foundation counselling training for interested volunteers.

Students and working adults are welcomed to be Open Up volunteers.
The training includes 16 hours of online class, 8 hours of offline training and 9 hours of practicum.
